My wife, Laurie and I live the good life in Simpsonville, SC, where we remain largely free of snow during what passes for winter down here and are Lay Cooperators with the Daughters of St. Paul ( http://www.daughtersofstpaul.com/Who-We-Ar , for info about this wonderful apostolate!) . We’ve been blessed with 8 children (hers and mine), 12 grandchildren, and 1 great-granddaughter. We are happy members of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. I am not an expert in any of the areas I will be blogging about, least of all, my Faith. When I write, I write as a devoted Catholic who sincerely loves the Church Christ founded, despite the sins of Her members. Music, literature, and film will receive the greater part of my attention, and how they impact our culture. My opinions will be offered liberally, though I try my best to remain faithful to the Magisterium of the Church. Above all, it is my settled belief that beauty can be found wherever one looks for it, and music, literature, and film are only three channels through which that transcendent virtue is made manifest.
